Rebekah Reid is a eighteen year old singer/songwriter who was born & raised in Seminole, Florida. Although she lives near and enjoys the beaches, she is all country at heart. Rebekah’s music interest started when she sang in her church and school choirs, which led her to participating at both County and State levels. Her love of music drove her to teach herself to play the guitar, playing at the neighborhood street corner or in the back of her dad’s truck for the entire world to see. Rebekah wrote her first official song in 2012, “Moving On”, and with this song she won the 2012 City of Seminole Talent Contest. She then knew that she didn’t just want to be a singer, but she also wanted to write her own songs.
With this win under her belt, Rebekah was asked to perform at the 2013 City of Seminole POW WOW, which consists of a weekend of carnivals and concerts. Rebekah put together a band, adding a drummer and a bass guitarist, and performed her first one hour concert on a stage in front of a large crowd. The success of this concert not only landed her a two hour concert for the 2014 City of Seminole POW WOW, but it also confirmed her passion for playing to a large audience and she realized there was no turning back. Rebekah went on to also perform at the 2014 City of Seminole Music in the Park Series.
Rebekah performs as a solo act or full band at several different locations in the Tampa Bay area. She also performs as a duo with Zack Biss, an eighteen year old singer/songwriter and dear friend, as the two of them are a perfect combination and have become highly sought after. Not only do they perform together, but they also started co-writing songs. They have been guests for "Write a Song Wednesday" on 99.5 WQYK radio with the Dave & Veronica show, which is a #1 rated and ACM nominated morning show on country radio in Florida.
Rebekah likes to perform a wide variety of music, but is more known for singing her original songs and putting her own twist on pop, country, and rock music. She spends most of her free time playing music, writing new songs and learning new instruments (piano, banjo, electric guitar, ukele, etc.).
With the love and support of her parents, Rebekah is using her God given talent to pursue her dreams and make things happen for herself in the future. Whether Rebekah makes it big or stays a hometown girl, she says that music will always be a huge part of her life.
At sixteen years old and as a junior in high school, Rebekah was told she was eligible to graduate with the senior class of 2015. She immediately applied to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She was accepted and will be majoring in Songwriting.
Rebekah worked in the studio with Adam Klingman of Bay Drive Sound Studios, and her first CD, titled "Chapters", was completed in March 2015. All sixteen original songs are available on iTunes, Google Play and/or on a physical CD. Zack Biss also finished his CD, and a song that they wrote together titled "Run" will be on each of their CD's.
